UPDATE (04/12/18): Oxitec says that ‘the minster’s statement was his own personal opinion, not a reflection of the formal position of government’. They continue to say that ‘the project halted mosquito releases on November 5th because the end of the mosquito season was reached’. The pilot is still operational to this day.
