21:24 – A thank you to Premier League players who have given up their time to teach children how to play football. They have donated a total of £1,600,000.

21:19 – A video is shown about child homelessness in Uganda. Sport Relief funding is used to try and get these children into safety. The video, presented by Rio Ferdinand, sheds a light on the physical and sexual abuse of children in Kampala.

21:12 – “I really admire Camilla’s determination” Nicola Adams on Camilla Thurlow’s boxing against Helen Skelton.

19:09 – John Bishop explores where the money raised by Sport Relief is being spent in the UK. One particular project aims to support homeless individuals through football.

19:01 – Kylie Minogue starts the show with her single ‘Dancing’.

19:00 – Sport Relief starts on BBC One.

18:51 – A company in London has raised over £20,000 for Sport Relief. The total figure was announced on BBC London News.

18:45 – Sport Relief features in BBC London News. It explores the fundraising that companies across the city have taken part in.

18:26 – Sport Relief features on BBC News at 6. It looks at the football challenges based in Salford.

The Day So Far

On his Instagram Story, Joe Wicks (TheBodyCoach) told fans that he is heading up to Media City, Manchester for Sport Relief. Joe Wicks worked with Comic Relief and GSK in Sierra Leone.

Davina McCall, who will also appear on the show this evening, shared a ‘Behind The Scenes’ look at the Sport Relief programme on her Instagram Story.

Sport Relief has also been promoting The Nation’s Billion Step Challenge. Users who download the Sport Relief mobile app are able to register their daily steps into the challenge. It’s part of a campaign to get people moving, however that may be.
